Your opinion counts

OASIS Participant Survey for 2011

The 2011 OASIS Participant Survey is underway. The last survey was conducted in September 2009. Some 12,000 OASIS participants received surveys asking for their opinions about our programs and how OASIS has impacted their lives. Over 5800 people responded. Overall, satisfaction with our classes and volunteer opportunities was strong.

It's time to ask again, so that we can continue providing the programming that you want. The 2011 participant survey is being distributed once again to a random sampling of about 12,000 OASIS participants. If you are a recipient of a survey, we encourage you to respond -- your opinion counts!

Here are a few responses from the 2009 survey.

Percent of people who said "agree" or
"strongly agree" with these statements:

My experience at OASIS was intellectually stimulating 84%
My desire to continue learning has increased 73%
I gained useful skills or knowledge during my
   participation in OASIS
76%
I would recommend OASIS to a friend or family
   member
93%

Many of those responding offered comments, like “It keeps me active, exercises my mind,” and “OASIS is one of the high points of my life.” And there are plenty of good suggestions:

  • Some evening classes would be great. How many people in this day are retired at 50?
  • I would enjoy more social activities such as lunches in a new restaurant, a bus tour of the wine region, wine tastings and theater.
  • Some classes could be longer, for example, genealogy.

We welcome your feedback as well through our online survey!
