St. Louis Connections Coordinator - Part-time consultant
The OASIS Institute, a national nonprofit organization providing lifelong learning and service programs for adults age 50 plus in 40 U. S. cities, offers an opportunity to become a consulting coordinator for the OASIS Connections Technology Training Program in St. Louis. Connections is a project to provide technology training to mature adults who are making transitions into a new phases of life, either through retirement, community engagement or reentering the workforce.
Responsibilities will include the following:
  1. Assist the OASIS Institute and the local OASIS staff in identifying and/or working with outreach partner sites. Research and contact new partners to increase the impact of the program in the St. Louis community.
     
  2. Implement a Letter of Understanding with all partners outlining responsibilities of each organization. Send copies of Letters of Understanding to The OASIS Institute.
     
  3. Assist all partners in reaching sustainability by training partner staff on the use of the Partner Guide and the OASIS Partner data entry screen. 
     
  4. Hold regularly scheduled meetings, at least one per trimester, of instructors, partner staff and OASIS to share ideas, discuss challenges and create a feeling of community.
     
  5. Recruit new volunteer instructors through partner constituents.
     
  6. Train partner staff and/or volunteers to teach classes and recruit participants.
     
  7. Guide all instructors through the Connections Instructor Certification process.
     
  8. Provide partner organization with training for reporting class enrollment data using the OASIS Partner data entry screen.
     
  9. Train partner staff and instructors where applicable, on how to order or download materials, including student handbooks and marketing materials/templates.
     
  10. Provide support for the Outreach partner staff on the implementation of the project.
     
  11. Participate in monthly conference calls with The OASIS Institute.
     
  12. Research a minimum of two individual success stories from outreach sites and send to the OASIS Institute.
     
  13. Maintain records on outreach activities.
     
  14. Maintain records and prepare reports on project evaluation, including quarterly reports and final report to the OASIS Institute on project progress.
     
  15. Assist in planning and implementing special events and media outreach to raise awareness of the project.
Qualified candidates will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to use computers and program related software proficiently. Relationship building, problem solving and other excellent interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds is required. Experience working with volunteers is a plus.
