The OASIS Institute, a national nonprofit organization providing lifelong learning and service programs for adults age 50 plus in 40 U. S. cities, offers an exciting opportunity to join its team in the headquarters office in Clayton, Missouri in the position of Technology Coordinator.
The Technology Coordinator takes the lead in supporting OASIS staff and volunteers across the country and works more effectively and efficiently by developing and providing training, trouble-shooting and support for OASIS online technology tools. This position also provides hardware and software technical support for the national staff. The position reports to the Information System Manager.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct technology training for staff and volunteers across the country by telephone and web conference. Develop and update training manuals and online help information for use of the OASIS database, website, email and other technology tools.
- Maintain current expertise on emerging techniques
- Demonstrate uses of technology to simplify and navigate through complex problems
- Ensure thorough, accurate information is disseminated to all audiences to maximize value of training experience.
- Periodically reviews and provides updated information for the most state-of-the art application of technology tools
- Provide help desk support for internal and external users of the OASIS website, database, email and other technology tools.
- Provide tech support for Institute computer hardware and software including installation, updates and troubleshooting. Knowledge of both Windows and Mac systems necessary. Support in-house phone system.
- Ensure timely, accurate responses to questions and support requests
- Troubleshoot requests for assistance with system problems, outages
- Maintain calm, confident demeanor assisting clients through issues
- Strive to defuse stressful/confrontational situations
- Perform database queries and analysis to support fundraising campaigns and communications.
- Research, test and recommend new technology tools to support effective communications, training and support.
Qualified candidates will have an associate’s degree from an accredited two-year college with 3-4 years related professional experience, bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience in Microsoft Office applications are required. Relationship building, problem solving and other excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment.
