The World War II draft brought everybody from the most illiterate to the PhD into the same foxhole for a common shared experience and purpose. Then the G. I. Bill made it possible for the survivors to accomplish good things for themselves, their families and their country. After World War II the American Dream was transformed, unimagined levels of prosperity were reached and foundations were laid for the life style and life-expectations that we have today. While it is tempting to focus primarily on foreign policy in the Cold War era, the transformative government actions were matters of social and economic policy.

The Fallen, published by HCI Books, is a supernatural thriller-police procedural mix that expands on the concept of the first book. Four ritualistic murders and some unexplainable natural disasters that eventually coincide lead readers to further explore the series’ theme: Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do people die? The first book in the trilogy, The Light Bringer, was a top 10 local best seller for 2011.
