CATCH Healthy Habits is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Foundation.

Make a difference in the life of a child – and your own –
through CATCH Healthy Habits in Atlanta

Do you like working with children? Like working in a team? Then join CATCH Healthy Habits, a program where adults age 50 + and children age 5-10 learn together the benefits of healthy eating and exercise.

The children and adults have a lot of fun as they learn together how to stay healthy and fit. Volunteers work together in teams of four, so you are never by yourself. The Atlanta Area Agency on Aging RSVP Program is the local sponsor of this program. All training and class materials are provided free of charge.

CATCH Healthy Habits is a wonderful way to improve your health and celebrate healthy living in your community.

CATCHing up with the Mayor

In Summer 2013, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students, First Book, Jumpstart for Young Children, CATCH Healthy Habits Atlanta, and the Corporation for National and Community Service, partnered with the Children’s Museum of Atlanta to host the Let’s Read, Let’s Move event to kick off the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club.

CATCH volunteers and staff join Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed to promote summer reading and fitness at the Children’s Museum of Atlanta

CATCH Healthy Habits Atlanta played a major role in this event. Volunteers Dianne Solomon and Rosa Wannamaker engaged children in several fitness activities and staffed a table featuiring healthy food choices for families. The event was part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s summer initiative to create opportunities for Americans to use service as a tool to promote physical activity, healthy eating, and to prevent losing academic ground during the summer.
