Pittsburgh OASIS this Spring!
This spring, OASIS is focusing on programs in the community
  • Intergenerational Tutoring, in partnership with the Pittsburgh and Woodland Hills school districts.  Lead volunteers have assumed responsibility for training tutors and coordinating the program in both districts, and the tutor leader model has contributed to smooth operation at the school sites.  On May 22, the annual starfish awards recognition event will be held at the OASIS center. This program is funded by Buncher and Grable Foundations.
  • CATCH Healthy Habits, in partnership with CitiParks. It’s starting soon in after school programs at two schools.
  • OASIS Connections – Beginning this spring we will be doing Connections classes in several library branches through the fine grant. We will also continue working with two or three outreach sites that have done Connections previously such as Martin Luther King Reading and Cultural Center and Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. There will be no further Connections classes in the OASIS Center. Equipment will be redistributed to other OASIS centers as needed.
  • New this spring, Brain Health classes in several library locations with funding from Fine Foundation
