Inclement Weather Policy

In the case of inclement weather, OASIS follows the Montgomery County Public Schools' cancellation policy:

  • If schools are closed due to weather, OASIS is closed and all classes are cancelled.
  • If schools have a delayed opening, classes that begin before 10:00am are cancelled. The OASIS center will open on time at 10:00 am.
  • If schools close early due to weather, OASIS will cancel all afternoon classes.
  • Closing policies at offsite locations may vary. Please check with the offsite location directly.

Be a Hero! Be an OASIS Tutor!

If you have one free hour a week, you could change a child's life. Through the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring program, volunteers, schools and OASIS work together to help children build reading skills, self-esteem and positive attitudes toward learning.

Our tutors help children in Montgomery County, Washington DC, and Prince Georges County public schools. Training and materials are provided; no teaching experience is needed.

To learn more, contact Pat Myers. For an inside look from two of our tutors, you can read about Aaron and Jackie Epstein.
