OASIS Receives Wisdom Works Grant to Foster Civic Engagement
Pittsburgh OASIS received one of six grants from the MetLife Foundation and National Council on Aging to implement Wisdom Works: Building Better Communities. The project fosters civic engagement among mature adults working in self-directed teams. OASIS recruits and trains teams of volunteers to implement Active Generations, an intergenerational program to address the problem of childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyle habits through after-school programs managed by Citiparks.
