From Your Director

Dear friends,

We have a broadly diverse population in Albuquerque. To capture its breadth and depth, OASIS takes advantage of ““in-reach”” to the community, bringing you exciting scholars, professionals, health care specialists, and artists. Our programs educate and elevate us, intellectually and spiritually, and also offer practical advice in the areas of health, nance, and personal enrichment.

Our Intergenerational Tutoring Program does not rest in the summer. After a successful school year –– 100 tutors were placed in 25 APS and 6 Rio Rancho elementary schools –– we are already planning for the fall. If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please call the offce (505 889-0927) and we’’ll answer your questions.

Our Veterans History Project also thrives. At the end of 2012, we had interviewed 498 veterans. Their stories will live on in the digital archives at the Library of Congress. If you wish to be interviewed, or to be trained as an interviewer, we would be glad to tell you about this program.

We hope that you continue to support our education endeavors and volunteer programs with your participation.

Warm regards,
Michael Nutkiewicz, PhD
Executive Director
