Be a hero! Be a tutor!

The OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program

Join the OASIS Tutoring Team: give one hour, one day a week, and you can change the life of a child.

OASIS trains and places adult tutors with children in grades K - 4th who read below grade level.

The 2013-14 school year wrapped up with 125 volunteer tutors helping 175 elementary schoolchildren (grades K-4) improve their reading skills. OASIS tutors serve all Rio Rancho and many Albuquerque public elementary schools. We expect to have a record number of tutors making a difference in our local school systems in the upcoming school year!

Class sizes are limited, so call early to ensure a space!

Rio Rancho Training (still has openings): Tuesday, August 26 (in Rio Rancho)

August 28, September 3, & September 5 training classes are now all full.
Albuquerque Trainings to be held at OASIS.

For information, email Tutoring Coordinator Mary Reed at or call 505-263-5087.

Margie Hobby

Margie Hobby helped her student find her voice as an OASIS tutor. It is one way Margie has stayed active and connected after retirement. "I do a lot of volunteer work, but this is the one that I really, really love.
