After two years of continuing to offer a broad range of programs amid declining resources, the Eugene OASIS Education Center has closed as of March 30, 2012.

 

Volunteers in the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring program will continue their work with support from the OASIS Institute.

 

For the past 17 years, OASIS has offered over 6000 high-quality programs for people age 50 and older in the Eugene/Springfield community. The success of the program was due to the efforts of 1,300 volunteers who have donated over 150,000 hours since 1995. However, the continuing weakness in the local economy has resulted in a significant reduction in the corporate sponsorships, grant funding and private donations OASIS needs to fund its programs and classes.
