Meet Sarah Ellington of Atlanta

Sarah Ellington likes a challenge.

A mother, grandmother and retired controller/office manager, she greets each new problem in need of solving with a resounding, “What fun!”
Active in a neighborhood homeowners association, as well as teaching private piano lessons, Sarah also serves as a volunteer instructor for OASIS Connections computer classes. She learned about the OASIS opportunity through the Life After Fifty coordinator at the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia, where she is an active member.
“Working with people is such a joy,” Sarah says,
Sarah has led several different classes, including: “Introduction to Computers,” “Introduction to the Internet,” and “Keeping Your Mail Organized.” She’ll be teaching introductory courses in  Microsoft Word and Excel” in the coming year.  Sarah works hard to make the classes  suit the needs of the students.
“Every class presents a new challenge,” she says. “With such a variety of skill levels coming into the class, and the different questions that arise, there is always new material that needs to be incorporated and new problems that must be solved.”
“I absolutely love helping people learn! The fulfillment I get in seeing the light come on when a new skill is learned by someone is unparalleled.
The OASIS courses open up a whole new world to these students, and brings a new dimension to their lives. I tell people who are considering taking an OASIS class to go for it! It will add so much to their lives and keep them learning!”
