2009 Annual Report Shows OASIS Volunteers in Action

"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." These are the words of Mahatma Gandhi, and they reflect the committed service of thousands of OASIS volunteers.

Judy Holland-Sheets, a member of the Active Generations team in Syracuse, says “Even though I’d worked for 33 years and felt done, I knew I wasn’t done done.”

Like Judy, our volunteers have talent and experience they want to use, and they have eagerly responded to opportunities to take on roles of value - as reading tutors, mentors, instructors and team leaders. We hope you enjoy their stories in our 2009 Annual Report!
