Tutoring Resources for Schools

“If only we could get this child more individual attention…”

Most teachers and school administrators have had this thought. Many have had this thought regularly -- weekly, perhaps daily.

You know the advantages of one-on-one attention for struggling students. You also know that busy teachers and busy parents often do not have the time to give a child the focused attention he or she needs. Learn how tutoring offers a solution for children and schools.

This area of our website provides additional resources for our partnering school districts:

Tutor Power is our online library of activities to spark a child's interest in reading. You must Sign in or Register with MyOASIS to access the library, which is free.

Additional resources are provided here for our partner school districts who offer the program, including  training and marketing materials. A MyOASIS School account is required to access these resources.
Click MyOASIS at the top of the page to Sign in or Register.

Research

Washington University Study

A research study by the Center for Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis showed that increasing the number of tutoring sessions improves the effectiveness of the intervention. OASIS is working with school districts and volunteers to take full advantage of this research. Read the Executive Summary.

OASIS Annual Evaluations

Our annual tutoring evaluations show strong positive results for tutors and students.  Review the evaluation results for 2009.
