CATCH Healthy Habits in St. Louis


Help make a healthier future for kids

Obesity rates for children have tripled in the last 30 years, and doubled for adults 50+, putting the health of our communities at risk.

Through CATCH Healthy Habits, you can be part of the solution - helping children learn good eating and physical activity habits for a lifetime.

Spring 2015 schedule

We have lots of ways to help! 

This summer, CATCH Healthy Habits will be offered at five locations across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles. Whatever time and skills you can offer, you can help combat obesity in our community:

Work with kids in grades K to 5 to lead fun, active games, share healthy snacks and learn about good food choices. Sessions meet weekly for an hour and training is provided. You'll work with a team of volunteers age 50-plus in the weekly sessions with the kids. The groups meet for 8 to12 one-hour sessions. Training, staff support, curriculum and program materials are provided.

Support the team on site or behind the scenes. Prepare snacks, transport game equipment or provide office support. Watch the kids in action and collect data to measure results.

Help spread the word to invite more adults in your community to get involved. Speak to groups or help channel information through churches and community groups.

Take the lead by communicating with team members and partners to coordinate the sessions and schedule volunteers. If you have human resource skills, we need help with volunteer interviews and placement. Put your organizational skills to work to help expand the program and reach more kids.
