Calling all OASIS Artists:
Enter your artwork in the OASIS Fall Catalog Cover contest
OASIS marks its 25th anniversary this fall and we want to celebrate! We invite artists age 50 and older to submit artwork for national publication on OASIS fall catalog covers. We are looking for art that evokes the spirit of OASIS volunteers who are helping to strengthen their communities.

All types of visual art such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography or other media are eligible. The winner will receive $250. Deadline for entry is June 8. For more details please see the entry form (pdf).

OASIS Volunteers Strengthen Their Communities
OASIS depends on thousands of volunteers to pursue its mission of enriching lives. People like Jack Houseworth, who organizes discussion programs and seeks out new program leaders for OASIS. OASIS tutors Aaron and Jackie Epstein fire up children’s enthusiasm for reading through activities that explore the secrets of code writing, superheroes, and spiders. By sharing their ideas and success in workshops they help other tutors discover how to spark the interests of other children who are struggling in school.

Emily Lovberg teaches computer skills and trains other volunteers to step into roles they never imagined - from keeping OASIS computers up to date, to creating videos for events, to helping students in the computer classes. “I love to see people using what they learn," she says.

These are just a few of the many OASIS volunteers who serve in valuable ways to strengthen their communities. As we share their stories throughout the year, we are learning more about how to provide volunteer opportunities and support that makes the experience more positive and meaningful.
