OASIS Tutoring Coordinator
The OASIS Institute, a national nonprofit organization with programs in 27 U.S. cities, seeks a part-time tutoring coordinator in Tucson AZ. This is a contract position.
The coordinator will work with the OASIS Institute and local Tucson staff to coordinate, strengthen and expand the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring program already established in the area. Key reponsibilities:

Maintain existing and establish new partnerships within the community

Develop and carry out strategies to increase community awareness of the program, marketing to appropriate audiences

Recruit volunteer tutors

Coordinate training schedules
-
Maintain close communication with participating school districts and community partners to ensure program participants are receiving a quality experience

Maintain accurate records for the program, including evaluation and participation data

Provide required reports on success of the program in each district

Communicate regularly with OASIS Institute and local staff on program progress
The ideal candidate:

is energetic and works well independently

is highly organized and enthusiastic
-
has strong communication skills, both oral and written
-
has ability to use computers and program-related software proficiently
-
has experience working with volunteers and has a good understanding of volunteer management
-
is able to communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds
-
Teaching skills or knowledge of current educational environment helpful. Work with older adult populations a plus.
