Two Important OASIS Programs Continue in Akron
OASIS at Chapel Hill Mall closed in August as a full service OASIS center, but two important programs continue in the community.
The OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program, carried out in partnership with the Akron Public Schools, Cuyahoga Falls Public Schools and Wadsworth City Schools, continues to help children in grades kindergarten through fourth grade learn to read and to love reading. For information about how you can become a part of this important effort, contact the school district coordinator in the district where you'd like to tutor:

OASIS Connections computer classes will also continue this fall through funding from the AT & T Foundation. Classes began in October at Destiny Youth Academy and in Macy's at Chapel Hill Mall. Volunteer opportunities as computer class instructors or class assistants are also open. For information about taking a class or applying to be a volunteer instructor, contact OASIS at 330-633-7814. Please leave a message and the Connections program coordinator will return your call.
