Active Living Every Day is made possible by a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to The OASIS Institute to participate in the research study, Active for Life. The study's purpose is to increase physical activity in adults over 50. St. Louis, Pittsburgh and San Antonio OASIS centers are pilot sites for this important study. The Houston program is supported by funding from the Houston Endowment, the Simmons Foundation, the Fondren Foundation and the Isla Carroll Turner Trust. To participate in this class, you must be over 50, generally healthy, and be willing to participate in a research study and attend the 20 weekly sessions. Participants should not be currently active at a moderately intense level for more than 2 days per week or greater than a total time of 120 minutes each week. Moderately intense levels of activity can include brisk walking, hand washing and waxing a car, or gardening and yard work. Does this sound like you? If so, you may be eligible for this class and research study. Active Living Every Day was developed by the Cooper Institute.
