Welcome to San Diego OASIS

OASIS is a unique educational program for mature adults who want to continue to learn and be productive during the best years of their lives. Membership is free and open to anyone 50 or older. Members receive a catalog of opportunities three times a year. You can join OASIS online.

OASIS offers a broad range of stimulating educational classes - from the arts and humanities to wellness, fitness and travel. Pursue an old or new interest, learn how you can stay healthy and active, and make new friends. To find out about upcoming classes, browse our online catalog.

San Diego OASIS Recognized for Innovative Community Benefit Partnering

San Diego OASIS has been honored as one of two first-time recipients of the Marylen Mann Leadership Award for Creativity and Excellence.

OASIS at the Library was developed to reach a broader, more diverse audience of mature adults, according to Shawna Yaley, Executive Director, San Diego OASIS.

"We knew there were a lot of adults who wanted to attend classes and activities but may not have been aware of or realized the extent of our programming, or may have had transportation issues," suggest Yaley. "By partnering with libraries throughout the greater San Diego are, we're going to where the people are." more

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the heart and soul of the program. OASIS volunteers tutor children who are learning to read, represent OASIS at community events, and help run the center on a daily basis. Find out more about our volunteer opportunities.

OASIS is sponsored in San Diego by Macy's Foundation and Aging and Independence Services of San Diego County.
