Through her art, Susan Roden explores subtle nuances of everyday life. She states, “the beauty of a simple state of being is exhilarating.” From swirling cloudscapes to sunflowers or from landscapes to adobe walls, her paintings invoke the brilliant light and colors of New Mexico. She uses multiple layered strokes with soft pastels, contrasting light and dark to invoke a sense of movement or drama.

Widely noted for her pastels, Susan Roden has exhibited nationally and is the recipient of many awards. She has been featured in numerous publications, including Décor & Style, The Pastel Journal, Southwest Art Magazine, and Pastel Artist International Magazine. Her work is in collections around the country. She has also been a graphic artist, a designer, and continues to instruct art including classes at Oasis.

Paintings are for sale and a portion of sales benefits Oasis.
