The OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program

Join the OASIS Tutoring Team: give one hour, one day a week, and you can change the life of a child.

OASIS trains and places adult tutors with children in grades K - 4th who read below grade level.

For the 2014-15 school year, we have over 150 volunteers working in 37 schools with close to 200 students (grades K-4) with one-to-one tutoring to improve their reading skills. OASIS tutors serve many Rio Rancho & Albuquerque public schools. Our tutors continue to make a difference in the lives of our students in the local community.

Upcoming Tutor Support Meetings

Margie Hobby

Margie Hobby helped her student find her voice as an OASIS tutor. It is one way Margie has stayed active and connected after retirement. "I do a lot of volunteer work, but this is the one that I really, really love.
Angie Lucero, one of Albuquerque's OASIS volunteer tutors, is featured in the National Education Association magazine!
