CATCH Healthy Habits in Los Angeles

You can help children adopt healthier habits for a better life

Los Angeles is one of several California cities offering CATCH Healthy Habits, a unique intergenerational physical activity and nutrition program that benefits two generations: kids and adults age 50-plus.CATCH Healthy Habits pairs adult mentors age 50-plus with children to encourage healthier eating and physical activity. CATCH volunteers not only help promote good habits for kids but also gain that experience for themselves!

Teams of volunteers work with children in grades K-5 to lead fun, active games, share healthy snacks and learn about good food choices. The groups meet weekly for one hour over 8 to 12 weeks. Training and materials are provided. Classes meet at after-school and summer camp programs.
