April is National Stress Awareness Month

Stress Awareness MonthAccording a Special Health Report from Harvard Medical School, stress doesn’t have to ruin your life or your health. Constant stress can have not so good physical effects on the body- whether commuting in heavy traffic, parenting children, navigating a relationship, or managing your workload. It has been linked to a wide range of health issues, including mood, sleep, and appetite problems — and yes, even heart disease.  Take steps to manage your health and wellness. Connecting St. Louis

Making walking and biking better for everyone

Author: Guest Author/Monday, March 04, 2019/Categories: St. Louis, Books

Safe spaces for walking and biking are fundamental to a thriving, vibrant community. You can have a voice in building safe streets in our region.

Join Trailnet CEO Ralph Pfremmer, Mayor of Clayton Harold Sanger, and Kirkwood City Council Member Nancy Luetzow on April 11 for an interactive session about how you can get involved. Be an active part of the civic dialogue in your community. Make your voice heard on policies that affect biking & walking.

Why do we need to advocate for biking & walking safety? Many streets in our region are designed to prioritize vehicles instead of creating safe spaces for all ages and abilities. The high number of car crashes involving people on foot and on bike has led the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to designate St. Louis as a Focus City for greater investment in road safety.

Ralph Pfremmer will lead the panel discussion. He'll present the latest updates on Connecting St. Louis, Trailnet’s plan to make the region a place where everyone can travel safely through a walking and biking network that connects neighborhoods, educational institutions, cultural districts, and business centers.

Citizens in communities like Clayton, Kirkwood and Tower Grove are advocating for safer streets in their neighborhoods. Learn how these policies get put into place in this session.
