OASIS is celebrating its 10th year in Syracuse! From the beginning it has been the cooperative effort of so many thoughtful and talented people that made this dream a reality in Syracuse. With the generous support we receive from Upstate Medical University and our dedicated volunteers we now staff a state of the art 11,000 sq ft. facility to better serve our community.
As a way of saying thank you, I would like to extend an invitation to our OASISmembers and Friends to join us on November 16th from 1 PM to 5 PM for a 10th Anniversary Celebration.
At 1 PM we will hold a Classical Musical Performance by Concert Pianists Patricia De Angelis and Dr. Steven Rosenfeld who are donating their time and accomplished talents. This concert will be showcasing the beautiful Ivers & Pond eight-foot concert grand piano generously donated to OASIS by Dr. Harold and Barbara Jones.
Following the concert, Dr. Gregory L. Eastwood, MD, past President of SUNY Upstate Medical University and Professor of Bioethics, Humanities and Medicine, will present “Dying Isn’t What It Used To Be”. Dr. Eastwood was instrumental in our start-up and attended our Grand Opening 10 years ago. We are delighted he will attend and his presentation will surely be engaging and thought provoking.
To close the celebration we will gather for an informal discussion on Syracuse OASIS, “Then and Now”. So many of you who were there in the beginning are still attending classes and volunteering your time. I truly appreciate that and I sincerely hope to see many of you at the celebration. more
