Welcome Jolyn
I am excited to announce the addition of San Diego OASIS board member Jolyn Parker, who will join the staff as VP of External Relations. Jolyn brings many years of expertise in marketing, strategic planning and development across the nonprofit sector as well as a long career in the retail business world. As our programs grow and the demand continues, Jolyn will assist me with expanding our outreach and funding efforts. If you have ideas to share, stop by to meet her or send her an email.

Financial Day at OASIS
We bring you this once-a-year special opportunity in partnership with the San Diego Financial Literacy Center. Saturday, February 20, 10:30 am - 3 pm. Make an appointment for a free, one-on-one, confidential financial consultation and/or attend group workshops on financial topics. Space is limited. Make a reservation for your private consultation here.

H.E.L.P. Hearing Education & Listening. Audiologist Margaret Lewis presents on the different types of hearing loss, the implications of untreated hearing loss and the various steps in receiving treatment. The class also covers how to overcome communication obstacles that may still remain after treatment. H.E.L.P. is not a product-specific presentation.

New volunteer training is coming up in Escondido: 2/4/16, 1-3 pm. Once trained, you may volunteer anywhere in the county. For more information, contact Becky.
Community Resource
Burn Institute offers free smoke alarms for people 62 and older who own their homes. The organization will install new smoke alarms, inspect existing smoke alarms, and replace batteries in existing units. Smoke alarms come with 10-year lithium batteries; alarms for the hearing impaired are also available. More info: 858.541.2277 or smokealarm@burninstitute.org
