The Oasis Mission in Action

You've heard the saying, "Practice what you preach," right? Well, the staff of San Diego Oasis is doing just that. We recently had a staff retreat where we shared how we have personally put our Oasis mission into action.
  • Sarah is taking piano lessons (and can often be heard practicing on our beautiful piano in the Lecture Hall)
  • Amy is teaching numerous crafty classes here at Oasis (that always sell out...and you get to use power tools!)
  • Jolyn is taking fitness classes at our Wellness Center with a friend (have you experienced the new floor yet?)
  • Kelly is starting an "inspiration-based" side business using her design skills and building a website to promote it
  • Brandon is writing original music for his band
  • Simona is establishing a new routine of a 15 minute walk with her family as a way of unplugging and winding down the day together
  • David is involved in a volunteer group that identifies areas where trash needs to be picked up in his community, and then pitches in to do it.
Bottom line, we each believe in the mission of San Diego Oasis!

Join us this Fall as together we continue to stimulate our minds through lifelong learning, be proactive about our health by staying active, give back to our community through volunteerism, and by practicing what we preach: showing San Diego County that we truly are changing the way people think about aging!

“You are never too old to set another goal
or to dream a new dream.”
—C.S. Lewis
