This position is 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to become a full-time position. The salary range for this position is $25,000-$28,000, dependent upon experience, and reports to the Indianapolis Oasis Board and department leaders at the National Office. This position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Title:  Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring VISTA

Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Job Description:

The Intergenerational Tutoring VISTA member will expand the tutoring program into more low-income schools throughout the St. Louis Metro region by

  • Increasing the number of new tutors, ultimately increasing the number of students served
  • Identifying and creating a list of new school districts/communities for tutoring expansion
  • Analyzing tutoring survey results and summarizing these results for school districts.

Activities will include working with community organizations and faith-based partners to recruit additional tutors, researching new communities and schools/school districts for potential expansion (including understanding any existing programs within schools, identifying sources of volunteers, etc.) and participation in program evaluation process.

Job Title: Oasis Intergenerational Health Program VISTA

Full-Time (40 hours/week)

Job Description:

The goal of this project is to expand Oasis’ health programs into low income communities across the St. Louis region, with a strong focus on reducing social isolation for older adults. The VISTA member will develop new partnerships in the St. Louis community, as well as train and develop strong health program instructors and volunteers for Oasis health programs. Additionally, the VISTA member will conduct focus groups to obtain feedback about types of health programs, program content, quality, and lessons learned to get a better understanding for which services program participants in low income communities are seeking to attend. Finally, the VISTA member will enhance the social isolation reduction program Oasis currently offers.
